ABANT:LAKE ABANT
It is between the city and Mounth
Bolu, 18 km from the city. Lake
Abant is 1450 meters above sea
level. Summer and winter vacations
can be very pleasant here. Pine
forests cover most of the land. Wild
flowers and plant cover the ground.
When the temperature falls below
zero walking on the lake is
perfectly wonderful. Summer is ideal
for swimming and fishing.
BOLU
We have very limited information
about the times before written
history. After the Bithynian's
Romans Byzantines, Ottomans begun to
rule this city in 1324. The
earthquake in 1944 damaged the city
seriously. Heavily forested and
snowly mountains and lakes are main
touristic attractions of Bolu. And
it is very nice with hunting,
sports, mountain climbing,
relaxation and thermal spring
facilites for these who want to
benefit.
SEVEN LAKES
These lakes are formed by the
shifting of the valley. The region
of 550 hectares, including these 7
lakes, is a national park.
