This antique city uated 18 km. south
of Milet-Miletos. Dydima-Didim is
one of the resort centers in Aegean

antique age the city of Dydima has

THE TEMPLE OF APOLLON
The temple of Appolon has been found
after consequent archeologicel
excavation being carried out in
1858-1872 and in 1904. It is one of
the highest temples of the world
with it's size of 50 x 109m. The
temple used toserve the people
coming over from the different parts
of the world for their religious
ceremonies. he temple has lost it's
importance and favour after the
restriction of astrological
activiies and fortune telling by the
Byzantinium Emperor Thedosius in 385
AD.
MILETOS
It was the biggest city of
Hellenistic Greece. The most pompous
remnant in this antique city is the
theatre. The soundest of Roman
Empire Period of Theatres which
survived in such good condition is
the theatre of Miletos. It has a
capacity of 15.000 spectators and it
was founded during the lynd Century
A.D. The city walls and the castle
situated behind the theatre belongs
to the Byzaninium period.
THE MUSEUM OF MILETOS
Many pieces of historical value such
as ceramics statues Inscriptions
columns and pedestals which have
been found during archeological
excavations are now being exhibited
in the museum.
