Side Tours
SIDE
It is established on a peninsula 80
km. east of Antalya. Mayancient
remains from Hellenistic and Roman
periods were found here. Side was
the natural harbour of Pomphylia.
The city is 800m. in length and
300m. in width. It is claimed after
the excavations that side is one of
the oldest settlements of Anatolia.
The city was established in the
III.century B.C.
THEATRE OF SIDE
It has the capacity of 20.000
people. It was built in the II.
Century A.D. Besides the ancient
theatre, side attracts ttentions
with it is baths, cisterns, temples,
fountains, Agora, road with columns
and arches.
SIDE MUSEUM
Old bath ruins were transformed to a
museum in 1940. Most important and
atractive objects exhibited in this
museum are Heracles, Nike three
beautiesi statues of Hermes and
Sarcophagis of Eros.
