HAKKARI
Hakkari is known as the most mountainous province in Turkey where four
seasons can be lived at the same time.You don`t believe your eyes during your

Hakkari is situated210 km southeast of Van.Its landscape is around 9520

the Meliksah Madrasah - in the center of the city -from fifteenth century
reflects the architecture of its time perfectly. Within the districts of the
city, you can see some ruins of Christian churches and palaces.According to the
archeologists te medievel fortress reflects the history background of this
region madrasahs, palaces and churches...Kayma Palace is one of them which had
built y Seyyid Abdullah.There is a bridge which is called Stone Bridge using
today; however, it was built at the time of Ottoman Empire on Semdinli river.It
is 12 km to the district center and 11 meters high, 21 meters long and 3 meters
wide.
The Zap Valley locating on the Van-Hakkari Road, has exellent natural
beauties and offers you fantastic scenery..Zap Stream is famous for its trout
which are very delicious.Throughout the valley where natural mountain waters
flow with a gurgling sound, you will see various watersprings.
Hakkari has also an important role in history.The town has wintnessed the
passing of tribes in Anatolia since earliest times.Archeologists have been doing
some works in Hakkari.They say that Hakkari is a secret town for us.If you are

Mountains, there is a plant called `Ters Lale`(upside down tulip) is grown only
in this part of the world.It`s an insteresting example of the rich flora of the region.What`s more Assyrians called it as " crying tulip" because of the drops
of water coming out every morning from its bulb.This wonderful plant is under
preservation and is not permitted to export outside the country.Nature lovers
will be affected totally from the smells and the scenery of these tulips which
you have no chance to see in he world except Hakkari.

Golan Plateau is a very important ski center in the region.It`s 15 km from
